David "Nelson" Surles is the Director of Data Integration and Accountability for Durham Public Schools. He leads the district’s work in student data systems (Infinite Campus), accountability reporting, and analysis, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and practical use of data.
He has extensive experience working with Infinite Campus data sets and state reporting, with an emphasis on improving data quality and streamlining reporting processes. His work centers on building systems that are reliable, scalable, and easy for teams to use.
