About me
I am the Executive Director of the North Carolina Technology in Education Society (NCTIES). In this role, I work to expand NCTIES's footprint. I have over 32 years of experience in education, from roles as a Media Coordinator and Instructional Technology Facilitator to working with the North Carolina Department of Digital Teaching and Learning, and most recently serving as the Chief Information Officer with Burke County Public Schools from 2013 to 2024. In this position, I oversaw the Digital Teaching and Learning Department, which includes technology, instructional technology, student information system, and media. I have served as an adjunct professor at Appalachian State. I received my EdD in July of 2013 from Appalachian State University. I am also a professional member of the North Carolina Consortium of School Networking, the International Society for Transformation in Education, and the Consortium of School Networking. I love building connections that help North Carolina schools and districts share and grow. I am passionate about connecting you with what NCTIES offers and finding ways to support your goals in digital teaching and learning.
