About me
Meredith Ward Hill serves as the Emerging Technologies Consultant at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where she leads the state's AI education strategy for PK-13 public schools. Prior to this role, she served as a digital learning consultant, district media specialist, school library media coordinator, and reading teacher. She teaches writing-intensive literature courses at East Carolina University. CETL and National Board certified, Meredith's work reflects the philosophy that AI can be used as a tool to enhance authentic, transformative learning experiences and that AI use should center human development. Her professional interests include AI ethics and intellectual freedom.
