About me
Rebecca Lehtinen is an experienced educational technology leader whose career spans classroom teaching and district leadership. She began as a second-grade teacher, where she saw how technology can spark curiosity and transform learning—an experience that continues to shape her focus on access, innovation, and student-centered practice.
She serves as Executive Director of Educational Technology for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, leading the district’s AI work, including its vision, guiding principles, educator professional learning, and student programs in AI literacy and digital citizenship. She has unified edtech, help desk, and web services, led a 1:1 device initiative, and developed scalable support systems.
Rebecca is known for building high-performing teams and driving meaningful, systemwide impact. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds an M.A. in Teaching (Educational Technology) and a B.A. in Human Ecology.
