About me
Ms. Garrou is a Title 1 Interventionist at Foothills Correctional Institution with 2 and a half years of experience teaching in the Department of Adult Correction. For most of her teaching career, she taught exceptional children at the middle and high school level. She started teaching at Foothills Correctional in December of 2023 as the Title 1 Interventionist. In that position, she teaches readers who need extensive support, but are not identified for special education, and ESL. Another big part of her job is conducting transition meetings with students who are soon to be released, making sure they have all the tools necessary to have the best possible reentry experience. Whether in service internationally through missions with the Presbytery of Western North Carolina, in her role on the leadership team for Center for Human Skills, or in her career at the Foothills Correctional Institution, she is committed to using the time given to create the greatest positive impact.
